Amish Authors Blog

Welcome to the Amish Authors Blog!

Welcome to the new and exciting Amish Authors’ Blog!

I’m so excited to invite you into the world of the Amish as seen through the lens (and words) of some of the best Amish fiction authors.

As I had mentioned on my Facebook live stream just ten days ago, the idea for this blog hit me like a lightening bolt. So often, I talk about the inundation of “authors” who claim to know the Amish. They flood the market with books with bizarre covers, strange topics, and poorly written stories. The problem is that these “authors” do not love the religion or the culture of the Amish.

What they love is one and only one thing: money.

My followers on Facebook often ask me for the names of these not-so-ethical “authors” but I’m reluctant to even mention their names (think Beetlejuice!).

And that was when the idea for an Amish Fiction Authors blog emerged.

Instead of focusing on the negative, I want to present to you the positive…my favorite authors, both as writers and people. The people that I have invited to participate in this blog are authors whom I trust. They respect the Amish, they write from the heart, and they are just genuinely good people.

Over the rest of the month, you will be meeting several of these authors, learning about them as people as well as writers. You will read reviews of their books or read about why they love the Amish religion and/or culture. You will get a first-hand glimpse into the words and passions of authors whom I personally respect and trust.

Now, that being said, the authors participating in this blog represent some, but not all, of my personal favorites. Several authors had to decline due to health issues or personal commitments. I have invited them to participate whenever they can and will also make certain to update my followers when they have a new release coming out.

The goal of this blog is to keep you informed about what is happening in the world of some of the best Amish fiction authors being published today as well as to keep you entertained with fun stories, photos, hymns, and anything else that we, as a coalition of authors that write Amish fiction, can bring to you.

I hope you enjoy the upcoming weeks. We have a lot of fun in store for you!

Hugs and Blessings,

Sarah Price

  1. What a great idea and thanks for sharing and for keeping your stories authentic to the Amish culture. You are a true blessing. I grew up around a small Amish community in NW PA and have many Amish friends and your stories are always spot on. Thanks again for all you do to keep their faith and lifestyle real.

    1. That’s kind. Thank you, Tracy. I think it’s what all Amish Fiction Authors want…to have real, authentic, and accurate stories. The authors on this blog will be the ones to get as close as you can to actually being there!!! 😀

  2. I just finished reading Newbury Acres. I loved it. Such a great story line. I found myself talking to Catherine at times (regarding Ida Mae and John).
I was wondering how I can get Return to Newbury Acres. I’ve checked your blog, and your Facebook page. I would love to continue following the story.

  3. What a wonderful idea! Because I have so many Amish friends and spend a lot of time researching for each book and using Amish and ex-Amish beta readers, I find it sad to read mistakes about Amish culture and beliefs. I feel it’s disrespectful to write without making sure all the facts are correct. Good luck with this blog. I’m sure you’ll have many interested readers.

  4. I do love your stories about these faithful and very real people.
How do l ensure that l can see this blog and following ones next time?

  5. Picture reminds me of not far from where I live in NY.
We have visited several Amish and Old Order Mennonite
communities and even lived in one two years ago in the summertime.
I am moving home to NY this week and intend to do more book & writing
wise ! If you need me for anything, let me know Sarah !
